How  sea turtles grow into an adult

Firstly the female turtle waddles up to the sand. She digs a hole then lays 50-200 eggs .The  female covers the eggs and leaves them to hatch. 20% of the eggs laid never  hatch.

The babies that  hatch are the size of your palm. There are many dangers on the way to the sea such as crabs, birds, rubbish etc.50% of babies never make it to the sea.

Once the babies reach the sea they look for places to hide in the  seaweed. Many dangers for the babies are wave whale sharks pollution dolphins sea birds  (when the babies come up for air).
50% of the babies that made it to the sea die in the sea.

The female turtles can’t breed until 20 years old and adults can live up to about 80 years. The female sea turtle crawls on to the beach and  digs a hole  then lays the eggs the cycle starts again.
